The Victron SmartSolar Mppt 250/70 MC4 VE.CAN controller can charge a battery with a lower nominal voltage from PV panels with a higher nominal voltage of at least +5V. The SmartSolar controller will automatically adjust the nominal voltage of the battery to 12, 24V once connected to the controller.
