Victron 12V/170Ah AGM Super Cycle Batt Battery

A truly innovative battery

AGM Super Cycle batteries, such as the Victron 12V/170Ah AGM Super Cycle Batt, are the result of recent advances in battery electrochemistry.
The paste on the positive plates is less sensitive to softening, even in the event of repeated full discharges of the battery. And new additives in the electrolyte reduce sulphation in the event of deep discharge.

Exceptional depth of discharge (DoD) performance of 100%

Tests have shown that the Super Cycle battery from Victron can support up to three hundred DoD cycles of the 100%.
The tests consist of a daily discharge at 10.8V with I = 0.2C₂₀, followed by approximately two hours of standby in the discharged condition, and then a recharge with I = 0.2C₂₂₀.
Rest periods of two hours in a discharged condition would cause damage to most batteries after about 100 cycles, but not to the Super Cycle battery.
We recommend the Super Cycle battery for use in applications where DoD of 100%, or frequent DoD of 60-80% is expected.

Lighter and smaller

An additional advantage of the new electrochemistry is that it allows for a smaller size and lighter weight compared to standard deep-cycle AGM batteries.

Low internal resistance

The internal resistance is also slightly lower compared to our standard deep cycle AGM batteries.
